FiA awarded National Lottery grant

We're delighted to announce that Faith in Action Merton Homelessness Project has been awarded a significant grant by the National Lottery Community Fund.

The grant, which is for three years,  will help us to fund these key activities:

For the Merton Winter Night Shelter:

  • Provide our most vulnerable rough sleepers with warm, comfortable respite accommodation for around 60 nights per year.

For the Merton Homeless Drop-in:

  • Prepare more than 5000 healthy, hot two-course lunches
  • Provide around 2,000 showers and 1,000 loads of laundry
  • Provide more than 200 people with housing advice and information
  • Provide more than 80 housing referrals to local authorities and landlords
  • Move more than 30 people into secure accommodation
  • Support more than 50 people with benefit applications
  • Support 150 people on EU Settled Status matters
  • Open more than 25 bank accounts through HSBC's No Fixed Abode Scheme
  • Support 250 people with DWP Universal Credit applications
  • Make more than 100 GP/medical referrals.

We're extremely grateful to the National Lottery, which will help to secure our funding for the next three years.
