Thank you to Ashling, our Night Shelter Project Co-ordinator, for this uplifting news.
We’re now ten weeks into our sixteen-week night shelter journey, and it feels like a good moment to pause and reflect on what has already been achieved.
Since opening our doors, we’ve welcomed 34 people through the shelter. Each guest has arrived with their own story, challenges, and hopes and it has been a privilege to offer warmth, safety, and a listening ear during this season of their lives.
Already, we’ve seen some really encouraging outcomes: six guests have been reconciled with friends or family, rebuilding relationships that mean they no longer need the shelter. Nine people have been supported into permanent accommodation - a huge step forward and a reminder of the impact that stability and consistent care can bring. One guest has been referred on to the Glass Door night shelter for ongoing support, and another has been able to return to their homeland.
Behind these numbers are countless small moments that often go unseen: shared meals, late-night conversations, quiet cups of tea, and the reassurance that someone cares. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers, staff, host venues, and supporters, whose generosity and commitment have shaped every night of the shelter so far.
